I was wondering about the bird-blocks - I see you put them in vertically. I like the board-and-batton style you applied over it and I was wondering if you beveled the tops of the blocks to bring them into contact with the railroad decking or just left them square at the top.
I've seen different builders approach this issue a couple of ways - and I was wondering about your opinion on how this specific detail was working out in practice.
Thanks - and I love your website. Seeing the enthusiastic contributions to the project of all your family members is heartening as well!

Leigh,
Thank you for your compliments! We are enjoying the building process with the help of family and friends.
Concerning the bird blocks Lester siliconed them on the inside.
